Rough road

"Sometimes a rough and rocky road is gonna take you to a beautiful place.." Wayne Watson
So I looked through all of my cup half full quote books and just couldn't find one for the way things are going right now. We are in the turmoil of a child with school issues and that has stirred up all kinds of not positive and motivational feelings. That's my excuse for not blogging, and I'm sticking to it......
Here is what I'm gleaning from this situation. Tough times don't last all too long, and most of the time there is a good thing on the other end of it all. Conflict causes us to make changes in our lives, and if we didn't have conflict we wouldn't appreciate the smooth times. I also hold in my head that this time next week, it should all be worked out. I wonder what a therapist would tell me about all of this reasoning...
I've turned to another lyric of a song that has stuck in my mind more times than I can count. The courage quote from earlier speaks to me too, it is days like yesterday and today that make waking up and facing it all again tough. Nobody tells you when you decide to have children that they will wear you out emotionally. There is this balancing act of trying to protect them and trying to let them muddle through it and in the middle is your heart for the child that you love so much. UGH Anyhow, this one goes in the lunch box too, because I want my kids to know that it isn't always going to be easy but with a little determination we can get through it.  Time to put the coffee in a to go mug, the road today is rough...
