Everyone Has a Story

"If there's a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it."  ~Toni Morrison

I have always believed that everyone has a story. When you stand shoulder to shoulder with strangers, there is a person who has an incredible story to tell. These are the people sitting next to you on the flight; the man who traveled to Korea and drew in his sketch book the old temples in black and white, or the older woman who's father held the patent for the dress form, or the black belt who travels to teach young underprivileged kids about the discipline of self defense.
Daniel Pink, in his book A Whole New Mind, talks about the Mini Saga. It is a way to capture your story in 50 words or less. The panic of the blank page limits all of us from writing what has to be said. Our stories are all incredible, but when you look at a piece of paper to put it down, the effort is daunting.
The mini saga takes the trauma out of it. 50 words, that is all that is needed to capture your life on page. With that said, I thought I'd give it a try.

Blessed
Daughter of two. Sister to one. Mother of three. Wife for life of an amazing man. Lover of life, champion for those who cannot champion their own cause. Smeller of the flowers, seer of the rainbows, hearer of the world's music. Adaptable spirit, many tears of joy, incredibly blessed.

Write your own mini saga. Put your story to words. It is a story only you can tell.
