More Than Anything

"My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to. Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, you never need to carry more than you can hold. And when you're out there getting where you're getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you ......" Rascal Flatts - My Wish

Something amazing happens when you become a parent, the world stops revolving around you and begins to revolve around the child you are raising. I'm not sure if it is because I'm turning 40 this year, or because my children are the age they are, but I'm more in tune with the prospects for their future than I ever have been before.
I used to reach for the proverbial golden ring, I used to be focused on all I could do for the betterment of my life. Now, I"m concentrating on holding them up so they can reach for that ring.
The beauty of this country is that most parents feel the way I do. The beauty of the world we live in is that most parents feel the way I do. It doesn't matter what color or size you are, what religion or beliefs you have, the future of your children is important. We all want the same thing. We want them to be happy, successful, fulfilled, loved and love others. We want our children to find a connection to something larger than themselves and to make a difference in the world.
From the most powerful people in the world, to the nameless people we see on the streets, the wish for hope for everyone ~ especially the young is universal. This is my wish for all children, more than anything.
